Revoke the Detroit Lions right to host Thanksgiving Game!

THE ISSUE

Detroit Lions fan

In this year's "Thanksgiving Classic," the Tennessee Titans destroyed the Detroit Lions 47-10.  The Lions are consistently one of the worst teams in football, yet they are awarded the honor of hosting a game every year on Thanksgiving.

Yes, it's a tradition, but it's about time that this particular tradition came to an end.  Let's get some better matchups for the big Thanksgiving game, and not subject a national audience to the Detroit Lions on the day we are supposed to be giving thanks.

Are we agreed?

The Lions game is the annual lowlight of Thanksgiving Day weekend.  Why not show the best teams every year instead of the worst?  Let the two Super Bowl teams from the previous year host the game.  Or give it to a team with a winning tradition, like the Green Bay Packers.  Who made up this stupid rule that Detroit has to host the Thanksgiving game anyway?

While we're at it, can we get rid of the Cowboys as well?

Haven't the people in Detroit suffered enough?  The auto industry collapse, the Lions' 0-whatever season, the Tigers' disappointing season.  And you want to take more away from them?  Plus, on top of all that, they have to live in Detroit!

No, I say have a heart.  Give them their game on Thanksgiving.
