Revoke the Detroit Lions right to host Thanksgiving Game!

YES: 50%    NO: 50%   (vote now)

In this year's "Thanksgiving Classic," the Tennessee Titans destroyed the Detroit Lions 47-10.  The Lions are consistently one of the worst teams in football, yet they are awarded the honor of hosting a game every year on Thanksgiving.

Yes, it's a tradition, but it's about time that this particular tradition came to an end.  Let's get some better matchups for the big Thanksgiving game, and not subject a national audience to the Detroit Lions on the day we are supposed to be giving thanks.

Are we agreed?

Send Plaxico to Jail?

YES: 70%    NO: 30%   (vote now)

New York Giants wide receiver Plaxico Burress faces a minimum of 3½ years jail time if convicted of criminal handgun possession stemming from an incident in which he accidentally shot himself in the leg at a New York City nightclub.

Fortunately for the Super Bowl hero, the injury was not serious.  Unfortunately, Burress did not have a permit to carry the weapon, and the city of New York has stringent gun control laws.  Mayor Michael Bloomberg has advocated prosecuting him to the fullest extent of the law.

Are Newspapers Dead?

YES: 57%    NO: 43%   (vote now)

The Tribune company has filed for bankruptcy.  The New York Times has announced that it plans to borrow as much as $225 million against its newly opened building.  Advertising revenues are down 15% this year.  Readers are flocking to the web, and the newspaper companies have not been able to adjust quickly enough.  Bloggers and citizen journalists now deliver the news to people before the mainstream media can piece together a report.

All this seems to point to a decline and eventual death of the newspaper industry.  Are newspapers a thing of the past?

Should Taxpayers Bail Out the Auto Industry?

YES: 44%    NO: 56%   (vote now)

The "big three" of the American automobile industry, G.M., Ford, and Chrysler are in desperate need of cash.  Many Democrats in Congress back a bailout plan that would cost the taxpayers $25 billion in federal aid.  Some Republicans favor the idea of letting the companies fall into bankruptcy where they can restructure their operations, but this would perhaps cause the companies to shed hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Make Citi drop naming rights for new Mets ballpark!

YES: 58%    NO: 42%   (vote now)

On the brink of collapse, Citigroup this week announced one of the largest layoffs in history, with plans to eliminate 52,000 jobs.  Citi also took a $20 billion bailout from the U.S. government, and taxpayers will be forced to guarantee $306 billion in risky assets.

Obama's "Team of Rivals": A Good Idea?

YES: 50%    NO: 50%   (vote now)

Barack Obama has introduced his national security team on Monday.  Former Democratic rival Hillary Clinton will be the President-Elect's choice for Secretary of State, while Republican Defense Secretary Robert Gates will be keeping his current post.

Rounding out his Monday announcements, Obama named retired Marine Gen. Jim Jones as his national security adviser, Eric Holder as attorney general, Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano as homeland security secretary and Susan Rice as ambassador to the United Nations.

Is Sarah Palin the Future of the GOP?

YES: 46%    NO: 54%   (vote now)

Governor Sarah Palin has been highly visible since the end of the 2008 election, holding news conferences and conducting interviews with reporters more often than she did as a candidate.  Some believe that she is seeking to stay in the national spotlight, and will emerge as the standard bearer for the Republican Party.  Others believe the party should go in another direction.  Is she the party's future?

T-Mobile G1: Better than the iPhone?

YES: 44%    NO: 56%   (vote now)

T-Mobile's G1 smartphone, the first phone to incorporate Google's Android operating system, is now in the hands of ordinary people.  With many features similar to Apple's iPhone, as well as an "open" marketplace for applications, does the G1 beat the iPhone at its own game?

Do We Need a "New Deal" for Green Technologies?

YES: 88%    NO: 12%   (vote now)

President-elect Barack Obama is proposing spending $15 billion a year to advance green technologies that are intended to reduce America's dependence on foreign oil.  He claims that this will create five million new jobs and ensure that 25 percent of our electricity comes from renewable sources by 2025.  Is green technology really the panacea that it is made out to be, as a solution to our economic, environmental, and national security woes?

Should CC Sabathia become a Yankee?

YES: 63%    NO: 37%   (vote now)

CC Sabatha is the biggest free agent pitcher on the market this off-season (in more ways than one).  The New York Yankees, as always, have the most money.  Is this a match made in heaven?
